A Simple Guide to Obtain the UAE Golden Visa through Non-real-estate Investments
The most prestigious UAE Golden Visa can be obtained as an investor, but are you aware that there are numerous options other than real estate investments? Here is a simple guide to obtain the Golden Visa through non-real-estate investments or public investments.
One of the major attractions of the UAE Golden visa is that it is available for a period of 10 years, without a sponsor. Even though property investments are the most popular option among investors to get the Golden visa, the following options can also help you in obtaining the coveted visa.
1. Bank Deposits
You can apply for the Golden visa if you have a bank deposit of AED2million. You need to submit a letter from an investment fund accredited in the UAE stating the same.
2. Company Investments
If you have a capital investment which is not less than AED2 million, you are eligible to apply for the golden visa. For the same, you need to submit a valid commercial or industrial licence, along with a memorandum of association (MOA) which clearly mentions your capital investment amount.
3. Proof of Tax Payment
You are eligible for the UAE golden visa if you are paying tax not less than AED250,000 annually. As a proof, you need to submit a letter from the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) which states that you pay the government the said amount every year as tax, and it includes tax details of two years prior to the application.
As per the Abu Dhabi Resident Office (ADRO), if you own 25% shares in a company which pays annual taxes of AED1 million, then, as an investor, you need to provide proof that you pay AED 250,000 in order to qualify for the visa.
Please note that, to be eligible to apply for the Golden visa under the said categories, the invested capital should be completely owned by the applicant and there is no loan involved. There is also a requirement of providing medical insurance for the applicant and family members to obtain the UAE golden visa.
Other Documents Required
Apart from the letters mentioned for different types of investments, the other documents required to apply for the golden visa are:
- Recent coloured passport photo.
- Copy of a valid passport
- Copy of health insurance
- Copy of medical fitness test report.
- Copy of UAE entry permit.
