AED50 Per Day for Residents and Visitors - What You Need to Know About UAE Overstay Fines
As you are aware, overstaying in the UAE can lead to hefty fines. However, in order to unify the fines, the UAE government is streamlining its visa regulations. The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) which is responsible for various public services in the UAE including the Emirates ID has standardised the fine on visa overstay. So, now on, tourists, residents and visit visa holders will have to pay AED50 a day instead of AED100 if they overstay.
The new regulation ensures adherence to visa regulations and promotes prompt renewal. To speed up the visa application procedure, officials advise expats and visitors to visit the websites of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai.
In order to keep informed and prevent unneeded delays or fines, applicants should verify the service fees for different visa applications, including issuance, extension, and cancellation. These details are available online in the authority’s official website. Additionally, applicants can submit requests for visas and entries through the official website, smart application, the ‘Dubai Now’ app as well as authorised printing centres.
Visa and entry permit applications can still be submitted at accredited printing facilities authorized by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai or at registered printing facilities registered with the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, if you prefer a traditional approach. Once the application is approved, applicants will receive a confirmation message along with the original entry permit.
