Al Nahda Centre Celebrates 52nd UAE National Day
As UAE celebrates its 52nd National Day, the Al Nahda Centre, Dubai also joined the celebrations and did our part in remembering the heroes of our Nation.
The #UAENationalDay is celebrated every year on the 2nd of December to remember the unification of all the seven emirates into one nation. The theme of #UAENationalDay is ‘Spirit of the Union’ and all the residents and citizens of the Nation ensures that this day is respected and celebrated with all its might.
On December 2nd, 1971, the rulers of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, Al-Ain, Sharjah and Umm al-Quwain took a unanimous decision to unite as a single nation. Thus, United Arab Emirates was formed under the leadership of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, UAE’s first president. In February 1972, Ras Al Khaimah also joined to become the seventh Emirate. Ever since, December 2 is celebrated as the UAE National Day.
How is the #UAENationalDay Celebrated?

#UAENationalDay at Al Nahda Centre
The Al Nahda Centre also joins in celebrating the #UAENationalDay every year. This year, we celebrated it by dressing up in the country’s formal attire, decorating the entire centre in the colours of the nation, sharing sweets and delicacies, hoisting the flag on the centre premise and coming together as a team. We shared food and laughter and had a great time together. We also remembered the great spirits that brought us together on this day. There was singing and dancing and happiness all around. We are, and will always be proud of the country that UAE is.
