Can a UAE Resident Father Sponsor Only His Daughter?
So, here is the question – Can a UAE resident father who cannot afford to sponsor his entire family, bring only his daughter to the country and sponsor her? The shortest answer is, CERTAINLY!
Please note that, if your minimum monthly income is AED10,000, you can sponsor up to five family members. But, if you are willing to sponsor only your daughter, you may as well do that.
Generally, a resident of the UAE may apply for a residency visa on behalf of his immediate family members and sponsor them. If he earns Dh4,000 per month without housing or Dh3,000 per month with housing may sponsor his unmarried daughter in the country. So, if the daughter is unmarried, you can certainly sponsor her residency visa.
If your daughter is accepted to an institution in the UAE, they may make the necessary arrangements to have her residence permit issued by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), Dubai or the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) depending on whether your daughter is applying in Dubai or another emirate of the UAE. If your daughter qualifies for a Golden Visa under the student category, she might also think about doing so.
