ICA Launches New Generation Emirates ID Card for UAE Residents
ICA Launches New Generation Emirates ID Card for UAE Residents
The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship in UAE (ICA) recently launched the advanced, high-tech version of the Emirates ID card. This was implemented to ensure that the UAE Government is constantly aiming at the development of the quality of the population data system by delivering top-notch services for the customers.
The country uses highly sophisticated techniques and the best recognised global standards and practices for personal identity management. The new-generation version of Emirates ID is released in association with the second phase of the UAE passports and National cards project. The new cards are designed by utilising high-tech solutions that reduce any potential security risks and diminish the chances of replicating or counterfeiting the cards.
The new version of the card includes the employer or family sponsor and also the job title and place of issue of the card owned by the UAE residents. The high-tech smart features of the card promote and enhance the electronic security standards of personal verification documents.
Previously, ICA had urged the UAE residents to use electronic Emirates IDs until the new generation one was issued. This was mainly for those who applied for renewal of the ID but never received it. The organisation wanted to ensure that they get the latest version with all the advanced features on it. Until then, they could use a digital version that was as good as the printed one. Residents could avail these electronic cards by applying through the ICA’s official website.
ICA will provide the newly printed card for all customers during the current phase after the completion of the first phase, which is the use of an electronic version. The beneficiaries of the current phase would initially be the customers who have applied for replacement or damaged or lost cards or those whose cards are expired or invalidated. The customers should use their valid ID cards until expiry so that they could avail the benefits of the new version upon renewal.
The approved schedule of fees for the issuance and the services delivery smart channels of the Emirates ID card remains unchanged so that the customers don’t have to worry about spending more on the high-tech version. The delivery processes of the cards will be implemented in a time-bound manner, in coordination with the key partners of the ICA.
For enquiries regarding the Emirates ID card, UAE residents can approach the Al Nahda Centre, Dubai as the centre has a dedicated space for the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship. All processes of ICA are available at the centre. Al Nahda is a unique centre where all the Government related services are done under one roof. The centre caters to residents of the UAE including citizens, and tourists and is a major relief for customers with its multiple Government entities.
To apply for a new Emirates ID or replacement or even for the electronic Emirates ID, you could reach out to the ICA centre at Al Nahda. With efficient service and helpful staff, the centre serves the customers with precision.
